If you mess up and give too much side you will be punished hard, but even modest angling can bounce shells if they are not perfectly aimed. Constantly shifting speed and heading, using concealment to ambush broadside cruisers, etc. Honestly GC feels to me more like a cruiser but with heavier guns, and I drive her that way. I've been using the AP almost exclusively will have to start swapping ammo a bit more to add in some fire damage. Against cruisers her dispersion makes her a cit machine, and with a bit of love from the RNG cits on enemy BBs can be had. Her AP is surprisingly punchy despite the lower caliber and the guns are accurate enough that I can reliably hit the upper belt on enemy BBs with thick main belts. Currently sitting at a 68% win rate and averaging just shy of 63k damage per game (8pt capt atm). I rarely received it before, so getting it was a high point for my otherwise dreary night.Īnd then there was this recent one with Confederate.Īfter 25 games in Cesare, I gotta say its a fun ship to drive. I especially love her cute self because her tushy can wiggle and extricate out of possible island collisions much more ably than other ships (a throwback to her Mediterranean origins, perhaps?).Įven in a loss, I was able to garner a High Caliber, which appeased me. Still, all in all, she's a remarkably balanced ship. Happened where I got chat-banned for threatening said-same driver with retribution in future matches (and I didn't even use my usual lingo, I was being rather polite about the whole thing, up until a troll decided to report). The only time I hate is when a wild destroyer appears and torps me. I'll often end up giving one or two broadsides, but since I've played her I've grown more cautious and unafraid to turn tail and kite for a few to get rid of some the peskier fleas. It's a fine line but I've caught plenty of CAs with GC and that is where you make your Big Money. Like the High Tier RN BBs, you can sneak into ranges where you out spot CAs. If you don't use that speed and stealth, more bad things are likely to happen to you. I feel safer in NY if it comes down to taking big shells, because GC is terrible in taking them.

The armor is real squishy and other BBs can easily punish you if you didn't extricate yourself early enough or got yourself too deep into too much trouble.

It pretty much is a "Heavy" Heavy Cruiser
